Stu Duval Take 2
Yesterday we had another session with Stu Duval.
We were able to try drawing the different cartoons ourselves. He started off by showing us some basic drawings from letters and we worked up to doing some more complicated ones. We are going to have another go at drawing some of them again to get better and so we can put them up in the classroom.

Stu Duval
This morning Stu Duval came to school. He is a wonderful artist and story teller.
He told an excellent story this morning about the book monster. Tomorrow we are going to get the chance to have a go at the cartoons ourselves.

Clay with Rei Hendry
This week we have been lucky enough to have 3 sessions with Rei Hendry. She showed us lots of different things that we could do with clay. We made a flat dish with a pattern on it the first day, a fish on the second day and then on the third day we got to make whatever we wanted.
Our clay is now drying in the dark for 2 weeks and then it will have to be dried in the sun for 2 weeks. Then finally we will be able to take it home.

Superhero's
During writing we planned our superhero stories and then wrote their adventures. We came up with some amazing ideas and then decided we needed some pictures to go with them.
We did some green screening which meant we took a photo of ourselves with green cloth behind us and then used a special want to get rid of the green colour and so you can see us flying across the sky.

Dress up Day
We had a wonderful Dress up Day yesterday. Everyone made an excellent effort with their costumes, it was great to see everyone in the morning. We did some fun activities and in the afternoon we even got our teddy bear's picnic treat, so we got to eat all of our baking as well that we did on Wednesday. It was a great day!!!
Duffy Assembly
We were really lucky to have Jo Holly at school on Wednesday who talked to us about reading and how it helps with her job as a TV presenter. She has been on programmes like Squirt and the Crowd goes Wild.
Then we each got 2 books from the Duffy Books Scheme- we are very lucky.

Spring is here!
Spring is here and we have been enjoying some lovely warm weather during the last week.
You need to make sure you are wearing a hat outside on sunny days and also make sure you drink lots of water.

Sandwich Day
Yesterday we really enjoyed our technology day.
We worked through different tasks to help us plan our own healthy sandwiches including looking at healthy and unhealthy foods, taste testing some foods and brainstorming ideas of foods that go in sandwiches.

Litterthon
This afteroon the sun came out just in time for our Litterthon.
We walked down 2 streets looking for litter to pick up. Our class did a wonderful job and managed to fill a lot of plastic bags with rubbish. We did a great job contributing to our local community by helping clean up and make everything look tidy.

Dental Nurse
Today the dental nurse came in and talked to us about how to keep our teeth healthy.
She showed us how to brush our teeth properly and we even got to put on gloves and try brushing with our pretend toothbrushes.
We learnt brush, spit, bed!
So now we can try and keep our teeth healthy and eat less sugary foods to keep them even healthier.
